2012 in Telugu as 2012 Yugantham: Release on 12 November

Whether Doomsday would really become a reality after 3 years is still under speculation but the world is destined to end in the Hollywood movie ‘2012’ releasing on the 12th day of November. Coming straight from, Roland Emmerich- the director of super hits like ‘Independence Day’, ’The Day After Tomorrow’, ‘Godzilla’ and ’10,000 B.C,’ the movie has already created a widespread sensation after the release of its trailers in 2008. The film will release in several languages on the same day. Harald Kloser is its composer cum producer and it stars John Cusack , Amanda Peet and Thomas McCarthy. It has a song ‘Time for miracles” by American idol singer Adam Lambert.

It was the Mayan race that predicted the end of the world after calculating the length of the lunar year. The film focuses on the devastation that is an aftermath of man’s careless handling of the ecological balance. It shows Tsunami, crustal drifts and the engulfing of the earth by the sea to mark the end of the world.

The film is being dubbed into Telugu by ‘Lakshmi Ganapati’ films with ‘ 2012 Yugantham’ as the regional tagline. The mind-boggling response of the audience has set Tollywood film makers dubbing other Hollywood movies with a similar focus and effect. The makers of ‘2012’ are certainly concerned with the competition it would face if such an attempt by Tollywood succeeds.
